Born in Póvoa de Varzim in 1985, where she began his musical studies at the age of four with Jorge Ribeiro. Later joining Conservatório de Música Calouste Gulbenkian (Braga), where she finished basic studies. In 2003 graduated with professor Miguel Rocha at the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas de Castelo Branco (ESART). Fnished his Master's Degree in Music Teaching at Minho University in 2013 where she studied with cellist Pavel Gomziakov.
Throughout her career she had the opportunity to work solo with Lluís Claret, Xavier Gagnepain, Daniel Grosgurin, Michel Strauss, Miguel Rocha, Catherine Strynckx, Pal Banda, Pieter Wispelwey, Paulo Gaio Lima, Agnes Vesterman, Alexander Kniazev and Anne Gastinel, and in chamber music with Ana Ester Neves, Daniel Rowland, Carlos Alves, Paulo Jorge Ferreira, Riszard Woycicky, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Jacek Klimkiewicz, Radu Ungareanu and the string quartets Prázak, Fine Arts, Pavel Haas, Ébéne, Ardeo, among others.
She has been colaborating with Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa, Orquestra de Guimarães, Orquestra Clássica do Sul, Orquestra Clássica do Centro, Orquestra Sinfónica da ESART e Orquestra Sine Nomine, worked with maestros such as Osvaldo Ferreira, Cesário Costa, Vasco Pearce de Azevedo, Omri Hadari, Luís Carvalho, Pedro Amaral, Xavier Gagnepain, Christopher Bochmann, Stefano Trasimeni, Laurent Wagner, Dino Ciacci and Timothy Russel. She is part of the Póvoa de Varzim Symphony Orchestra (OSPV) since its foundation with which he has recorded four CDs.
She is a founding member of the (Des)Concertante Trio with Sérgio Neves (clarinet) and Carisa Marcelino (Accordion), with which won 1st Prize at the Coupe Mondiale de Accordeón (Norway), 1st Prize at FOLEFEST, 2nd Prize at Concorsi Internazionale di Musica della Val Tidone (Italy) and the 2nd Prize at the RDP Young Musicians Prize (19th and 20th Editions in the category of chamber music - upper level). The Trio is dedicatee of the works "Concertino" (2005) by Sérgio Azevedo, "Triopus" (2005) by Paulo Jorge Ferreira, "Desconcertante" (2005) by Carlos Marques and "O Medo do Ritmo Branco" (2006) by Carlos Marecos . The group was considered "Figure of the Week" by the newspaper Público in June 2006 and distinguished in the same year as "Youth Figure of the Year" by the Gazeta do Interior. In February 2007 the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco awarded them the Merit Trophy reserved to students of the institution who have distinguished themselves by their high professional performance.
She is also a founding member of the Verazin Quartet, resident ensemble of Póvoa de Varzim International Music Festival and supported by the Pró-Music Association of Póvoa de Varzim and DGArtes. Ana Luísa Marques had played several concerts solo and integrated in various formations around the country, recording for RDP (Antena 2), RTP Internacional, SIC, RTP, TVI and Beira TV. She recently performed a solo recital with pianist Domingos Costa in the city of Dätzingen, Germany.
Currently, she collaborates with Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa (Lisbon), teaches at the Conservatório Regional de Artes do Montijo and is a member of the Artistic Commission of the Póvoa de Varzim International Music Festival.
