Viola


He was born in Freamunde on June 5, 1990. He started his musical studies at the age of 12 at the Escola Profissional Artística do Vale do Ave, in the class of Viola d ’Arco by Prof. Jorge Alves and, later in the class of Prof. Teresa Correia.

She attended the University of Minho and did the first two years of her degree in Music in the class of Profs. Jorge Alves and Toby Hoffman. The Music Degree at ESMAE ended with distinction in the class of Viola d ’Arco by Prof. Jorge Alves. Subsequently, he achieved a Master's degree in Music Teaching at the University of Minho.

He held Master Classes and individual classes with musicians and pedagogues of national and international renown, such as Ryszard Wóycicki, Marc Tooten, Jorge Alves, Toby Hoffman, Avri Levitan, Diemut Popen, Ana Bela Chaves, Igor Sulyga, Luis Magin, Kenneth Martinson, Tatjana Masurenko and Máté Szűcs.

Won the 2nd Prize - Category B of the II Paços de Premium National Competition in Paços de Brandão and was part of the Fundação Orquestra Estúdio, which in turn was part of the Guimarães 2012 European Capital of Culture project.

He is a member of the Guimarães Orchestra and the Classic Polytechnic Orchestra of Porto, where he performs as head of the suit and has collaborated with several orchestras, namely, with the Porto Casa da Música Symphony Orchestra, Classical Orchestra of the Center and with the University of Minho Orchestra.

In chamber music, he has maintained a bastan activity regulate you. He is a founding member of the Arc'duto Quartet and the Arcada Quartet and, recently, he has collaborated with the Sinfonieta de Braga, the Hermes Ensemble and the Verazim Quartet.

As a teacher in Viola d'arco, he teaches at the Guimarães Conservatory and the Costa Cabral Music Academy.
