He began his musical studies at the age of five with his father Eladio Mujica, current director of the Conservatorio Superior de Música Juan Jose Landaeta. He joined the "El Sistema", part of the children's orchestra, starting violin studies with teacher Susan Siman, founder of "El Sistema" and current director of the Siman Orchestral Foundation. At age 11 he joined the Simón Bolívar Conservatory of Music with Professor Ulises Ascanio.
At the age of 15 he joined the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Caracas, being the youngest member of a professional orchestra. Simultaneously, he joined the faculty of the El Sistema Children's Orchestra in Los Teques. He won the contest of the first violins in the Municipal Orchestra of Caracas beginning studies with the teacher Jose Francisco del Castillo at the Latin American Academy of Violin. He joined Mozarteum Venezuela, in the class of the prestigious teacher Virginie Robillard, currently professor at the Conservatory of Lausanne, Switzerland.
Later he entered the Conservatoire Superior de Musique de Genève, where he took courses in pedagogy, composition, chamber music (with viola de arco) and violin, obtaining a master's degree and the prize Maggy Breitmeyer as best soloist of the year. He studied chamber music in different formations such as trio with piano, string quartet and string quintet with piano, in the prestigious Academia Tibor Vargas in Sion, Switzerland with maestro Gabor Takaç. In the same city, he joined the string quintet and bandoneon Tango Sensations, dedicated to the music of the composer Astor Piazzolla.
Jorman Torres also dedicates himself to the composition writing works for orchestra, quartet and several solo instruments or with accompaniment, being interpreted in several countries.
Currently he is part of the Symphonic Orchestra of Casa da Música, Verazin Quartet and Tango Sensations Quintet, teaching violin at Jahas Academy.
